Tongue and Groove Sheds

With their interlocking panels and flat surfaces, shiplap-style tongue and groove sheds are typically much stronger than overlap models as bike stores. Well maintained and treated with care, they will be well able to serve as bike stores for many years, offering a good level of core strength against burglars throughout their lifespan.
The advanced security wooden sheds that we offer have a good base line of rigidity, secure locks and basic protection so on delivery you will be in possession of a tough shed which is a far less attractive proposition for opportunist thieves. Our sheds are windowless with built-in locks and are designed to deliver quality over cost-savings.
Bike Shed Security
1. Install your shed on a sound concrete or slab foundation and bolt it to the floor. The solid base will give the shed added stability and help maintain the shed’s structural integrity.
2. Sensor-activated lighting in your garden will deter some thieves and are worth considering to flood light your back yard.
3. Where possible position your shed out of sight of the front of your property, and preferably behind tall fences and locked gates.
4. A PIR motion sensor alarm can be placed inside larger sheds: the screeching siren will deafen and startle many an intruder.
5. Lock bikes to a fixed bike rack and tether cycles to each other to make manoeuvring them very difficult. The stronger the lock and thicker the cable, the better.
6. Anchor your bike chain to the concrete base.
7. With tongue and groove sheds, the door frame is usually wide and deep enough, attach an external security bar across the door and a hasp and staple latch with padlock.
8. Replace hinge screws with clutch screws to make removing the door significantly more arduous.
Once all the above have been implemented, your bikes will be very difficult to steal. Whether you decide to implement all or some of the below will depend on many factors, such as the value of your bikes, the crime rate in your area, and the size and position of your garden or patio.
